We are excited to introduce you to one of our absolute favorite authors, Sherrie Lea Morgan! Today, we have the pleasure of sharing what's new in Sherrie's world. But first, let's take a moment to explore her bio. Once we're familiar with her background, we can jump right into the interview and uncover fascinating insights together.

Sherrie Lea Morgan constantly searches for ghost walk tours in her home state of Georgia. There isn't a haunted house she refuses to enter. Bouncing off story ideas with her twin sister is a past time of hers, as her dog Bennett refuses to respond to her questions. When not working on her current manuscripts, she enjoys spending time with her family. Although her children refuse to join her paranormal movie thrills, they are supportive in her obsession of all things scary. Of course, they are always willing to travel with her. She endeavors to show her readers a different view of ghosts in her paranormal books. Sherrie Lea also works to weave other paranormal gifts in her novellas.

She is an active member of Romance Writers of America, her local chapter Georgia Romance Writers and the Paranormal Romance Guild.

PPP: When did you know you wanted to be a writer?

Sherrie: Ever since grade school.

PPP: What was the first book that you wrote?

Sherrie: A shifter book and I didn’t complete it. I don’t even know if it’s saved anywhere, but that’s a good thing! My first full length completed novel I wrote was published under a different title (Dead Bodies, Dead Languages) after many, many revisions.

PPP: How many books have you written?

Sherrie: I’ve completed 24 books, but not all have been published…yet.

PPP: On a typical day, how much time do you spend writing?

Sherrie: I don’t count the time as much as the words. My goal is to write 3,000 words a day. Some days, that can take only a couple hours. Some days, that takes over four hours. Some days, due to life, I don’t get to write at all.

PPP: What comes first for you, the plot or the characters?

Sherrie: The plot always pops up first for me. The characters show up after I have a main idea of what the story will be about.

PPP: What was your most difficult book to write? Your easiest?

Sherrie: That’s a tough question. I’m not sure any book is “easy” to write. I know Ghostdrums seemed to flow faster when I wrote it, so I guess I’ll say that one for “easy”. Most difficult was the last book in my Lost Trinket series.

PPP: Do you have a favorite book or character that you have written? Why?

Sherrie: I don’t have one favorite character because I love them all. However, I will admit that my ghosts are special for me. I like the idea of creating and writing spirits that aren’t scary.

PPP: What would you say is your most interesting writing quirk?

Sherrie: I must be listening to elevator music when I’m dictating.

PPP: Tell us about your current WIP or your most recent book?

Sherrie: I’ve recently wrapped up a 12 books series called The Lost Trinkets series. The last book will be published this year and I’m sad because I fell in love with all the folks in Petrie’s Crossing and will miss them.

PPP: Where did you find your inspiration for writing it?

Sherrie: One day while visiting my nephew, who lives in Augusta, I got inspired by the older buildings and thought how cool it’d be to create a small-town story.

PPP: Tell us about your experience working with the team at Poised Pen Productions.

Sherrie: When I published my first book back in 2016, I knew I’d need help with my social media platforms and marketing since I was so spending most of my time writing. I’m not sure how I found Poised Pen Productions, but I do know that was the best decision I’ve made as an author. Without Tessa, I’d be lost. After 7 years, I’m still here and recommending PPP to anyone and everyone I know.

PPP: Is there anything else you would like our readers to know?

Sherrie: The best thing a reader can do for their favorite author is to leave a review. These help in so many ways and the need to have them can never be understated. Please leave a review whenever you can. They’re not for the author’s ego but can help them get the credentials they need for their endeavors.

A Hidden Legacy (The Lost Trinkets Series, Book 12)

A diary, a ring…and a lesson in convincing her heart it’s time to let go.

With her wedding to Mitch just around the corner, Shannon is living in a state of bittersweet anticipation. On one hand, she can’t wait to finally marry the love of her life. But on the other is something she promised her twin’s ghost, Steph, which has her emotions in turmoil.

With the future and the past weighing heavily on her mind, Shannon turns to her trinkets box, where only one item calls to her psychic powers. A ring with an unusual, bright-orange stone.

If Shannon’s learned anything about the trinkets, it’s that they reveal their secrets in their own good time. The ring’s story, however, is inextricably tied to a family diary. And a woman Shannon’s never met who could turn the life she’s built at Petrie’s Crossing upside down.

For everyone to get the happy ending they deserve, Shannon’s gloves must come off one last time—so she can finally find the strength to let Steph go. And trust that when she reaches for her future, happiness will be waiting to land in her outstretched hands.
